Dwayne Johnson posted a new image on social media today expressing his excitement about his upcoming Disney film, Jungle Cruise. The upcoming project comes from director Jaume Collet Serra (The Shallows) and screenwriter Michael Green (Logan), who wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay. Jungle Cruise is, of course, based on the iconic ride of the same name that has been operating within Adventureland inside Disneyland since the theme park opened way back in 1955....

Director Josh Trank supports the women who’ve come forward with allegations against Max Landis, revealing he banned the writer from the Chronicle set. Both Landis and Trank worked on the 2012 superhero movie, with the former penning the script and the latter directing. When it premiered, Chronicle earned positive reviews from critics and moviegoers alike, leading to a successful box office run. Trank leveraged the success of Chronicle to land the gig of directing Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, but the movie flopped after a great deal of reshoots....
Disney revealed the first footage from its Jungle Cruise movie at D23. The Mouse House scored an unexpectedly huge hit when it turned its Pirates of the Caribbean ride into a live-action film in 2003. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Thanos actor Josh Brolin have thanked the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fans for supporting Avengers: Infinity War on its way to a massive opening weekend at the global box office. Marvel fans went to see Infinity War in droves, and although the film left many crying, scratching their heads and/or even traumatized, it has already become one of the largest movie events of the year, if not the decade....
Alvin Kwock, an analyst at JPMorgan, says HTC’s One will help the company experience a “mini-turnaround”. He says that according to his checks, HTC shipped about 300,000 One units in March. They’re on track to ship 1.2 million units in April, and then in May that figure should hit 2+ million. Alvin says that the biggest threat to the One’s success is, obviously, the GS4, which goes on sale later this month in the UK, possibly even the United States....

Jordan Peele reveals that his new movie will be titled Us and may star multiple Black Panther cast members. One of the biggest surprises of last year was just how big Peele’s directorial debut Get Out became. He made what appeared to be a surprising turn to the horror/thriller genre after years of success in comedy, but it proved to be a genius move. The studio behind the Just Cause series and the upcoming RAGE 2 has been acquired by Nordisk. The Nordic company has a 111-year history in film and have branched out into other forms of entertainment in recent years. Once the acquisition is finalized in June, Nordisk will have obtained full ownership of Avalanche and its three different studios worldwide. Avalanche Studios is best known for their work with Square Enix and on the Just Cause series of open-world action games....
Zack Snyder confirms Wonder Woman killed Steppenwolf in his cut of Justice League. Its no secret by now that the theatrical version of Justice League released in theaters in November of 2017 wasn’t what Snyder originally had planned. The harsh reception to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice saw Warner Bros. insist on changes to the story Snyder and writer Chris Terrio were planning to tell. The changes came so early in the process that Snyder never even shot his original script for Justice League....
