While the trailers for Justice League have shown a film that utilizes the typical palette of a Zack Snyder movie, the marketing has taken a different approach. Not only have these eye-catching images helped to make the film look more fun, but they’ve called back to the comics from which the movie’s characters were born....

A Justice League production designer recently expressed his frustrations over how a concept design for an Apokolips pilot for the film didn’t get used. Before the film’s release, word began spreading that the film would have some connection to Apokolips. Fans soon learned that the link was Steppenwolf, the film’s villain, one of the gods from that planet. In DC Comics, Apokolips is a brutal planet inhabited by gods, a depressing place that resembles a high-tech industrial wasteland....

Colin Trevorrow has confirmed the official title for Jurassic World 3 - Jurassic World: Dominion - as filming starts. Five years after he brought the Jurassic Park franchise back to life with Jurassic World, Trevorrow is returning at the helm for the third and final entry in his sequel trilogy. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will reprise their roles from the previous two Jurassic World movies opposite original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum in their iconic roles....

Warner Bros. has released a second trailer for Destin Daniel Cretton’s new film, Just Mercy. The upcoming drama is adapted from Bryan Stevenson’s memoir of the same name, documenting his experiences as a young attorney. Michael B. Jordan plays Stevenson in the film opposite Jamie Foxx as Walter McMillan, an Alabamian inmate who, in 1987, was sentenced to die for killing a teenaged girl, in spite of the ample evidence proving his innocence....

Reuters is reporting that Lucy Koh has today dismissed a data privacy lawsuit against Apple that dates back to 2011. The plaintiffs were suing on the basis that (in iOS 4.1) Apple collected WiFi hotspot and cell tower location data even though Location Services were disabled. In addition, the lawyers claimed that the App Store was designed to easily transmit personal data to third parties without user consent. As a result, they alleged that they overpaid for their iPhones....

We’ve been keeping an eye on Kamcord as the platform for in-app gameplay recording and sharing grows, and today the company is announcing another round of funding, new milestone stats, and upcoming features for both developers and users. Perhaps most notable of all the announcements today is the fact GungHo Online Entertainment is leading a $15 million Series B. Not only is that yet another major game publisher onboard with Kamcord, it also means gamers can expect some of GungHo’s popular titles to soon implement game recording....

And if you were losing count, the latest news reported by FOSS Patents that a California court has rejected Apple’s application for an injunction against Samsung still relates to the original patent battle between the two companies which began back in 2011....

Thanks to this weekend’s release of the final Justice League trailer and the buzz ahead of tonight’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi debut, the two blockbusters topped last week in social media buzz. With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice notoriously seeing a shorter edit hit the big screen before the much more appreciated Ultimate Edition was released for home viewing, the subject of studio interference was always a question for Justice League, a question only exacerbated after the departure of Zack Snyder....

A More Traditional Superman Zack Snyder’s version of Superman was bold, challenging, visually stunning, and has amassed a passionate, vocal fan base. But there’s simply no getting around the fact that that take was not for everyone, and the dour, self-doubting Clark Kent proved to be far more polarizing than Warner Bros. were hoping. It can be argued this was an overcorrection after Bryan Singer’s dewy-eyed, saccharine Superman Returns - overly reverential toward the Christopher Reeve Superman films of the 70s and 80s - was met with lukewarm box office returns and a cultural shrug....
