The September PREVIEWS catalog will offer Browncoats everywhere their first look at the first issue of the upcoming Firefly comic book. The new monthly series, which is being published by BOOM! Studios, was first announced back in July and is scheduled to arrive in comic shops in November. The original Firefly television series was short-lived but spawned one of the most devout fandoms in existence. Created by Joss Whedon, the series was set 500 years in the future, in a new solar system terraformed by humanity....

22 Jump Street famously concludes with a montage of clips from fake sequels to the movie - poking fun at the very concept of a Jump Street TV show-turned movie franchise, much in the same way that 22 Jump Street riffs on its own existence. That hasn’t prevented Sony from attempting to keep the Jump Street series going in real-life all the same; in fact, the studio is now working on a pair of Jump Street film spinoffs, in the forms of a crossover with the Men in Black franchise (dubbed MIB 23) and a film about a pair of undercover female police officers who are connected to the Jump Street program in some way....

Psyonix has had plenty of crossovers in the past, but their latest batch of Rocket League DLC will have a prehistoric flair to it. The developer announced today that they’ve teamed up with Universal Interactive for a Jurassic World car pack to release on June 18. The downloadable content will cost $1.99 and will include a new vehicle plus some additional goodies. This isn’t the first time that Rocket League has had DLC based upon iconic films....

With the launch of Just Cause 4 less than a week away, Square Enix has released a new live-action trailer for the upcoming game. The new trailer gives a humorous take on what happens after the series protagonist, Rico Rodriguez, takes an enemy base. Published by Square Enix and developed by Avalanche Studios with a brand new engine, Just Cause 4 sends Rico to a fictional country called the Republic of Solis in South America where he is set to face off against his old enemies, the Black Hand, led by a new character and the game’s main villain, Gabriella....

Kantar World Panel’s Carolina Milanesi has crunched the numbers and notes that iOS beat Android in the US in the holiday quarter with a hefty .1% margin — iOS devices accounted for 47.7% of sales, Android devices accounted for 47.6%. Apple’s iOS beat Android in other key markets including Japan and Australia but still trailed in others in Europe and China. Apple’s iOS hasn’t led Android in a quarter in Kantar’s US numbers since the holiday 2012 quarter....

A week removed from the cancellation of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, the streaming giant is pushing ahead as early news indicates it is beginning the casting process for its Jupiter’s Legacy series by targeting actors Pablo Schreiber and Eric Bana. Having bought the rights to Mark Millar’s publishing company, Millarworld, and its longest running series more than a year ago, the move by Netflix is hardly surprising. A present-day superhero epic, Jupiter’s Legacy explores the generational conflict that arises between the world’s first superheroes, who gained their powers in the 1930s to help better mankind, and their superpowered children who face the daunting task of matching their parents’ legacy....
