Like many other characters in Justice League, Lex Luthor’s role in the movie saw its own set of alterations. Following Zack Snyder’s departure from the superhero ensemble in the wake of a family tragedy, Justice League underwent a series of reshoots that drastically altered the film from what the director had intended. With the two-year anniversary of the movie’s release approaching, there continues to be a major ongoing push for the release of the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, a goal that a growing number of the cast and crew have begun vocally supporting, with Jason Momoa even confirming to have seen Snyder’s version of the movie himself....

Kamcord, the Y Combinator-backed startup offering a free SDK that makes it easy for iOS devs to offer in-game recording functionality to their users, is today announcing an additional $1M in seed funding and some big updates since the last time we checked in. We spoke with CEO Matt Zitzmann about some new features coming to the service today and he also filled us in on the progress the company has made since rolling out a new voice overlay feature back in June....

Jumsoft has just released Book Palette 1.0 on the Mac App Store– a collection of templates and themes for Apple’s recently released iBooks Author platform. The first release of many to come includes 10 templates from business to cookbooks that all include customizable layouts, covers, chapter pages, tables of contents, glossary pages, and everything included in the iBooks author app. It looks like Apple isn’t going to have an issue with developers selling additional add-on content for iBooks Author through the Mac App Store....

Thanks to its domestic opening of $150 million, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has already powered its way past the $700 million mark at the global box office. Once again starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Fallen Kingdom is the follow-up to 2015 mega-blockbuster Jurassic World, the fourth film in the Jurassic Park movie saga that stormed its way to $1.671 billion at the worldwide box office. Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World held fourth place on the all-time list of highest grossing movies globally until Avengers: Infinity War bumped the movie to fifth place in the spring....

It’s only a fortnight since Apple opened its 27th retail store in China, but there’s no sign of any let up in pace as the company heads towards its goal of 40 Apple Stores in China by October of next year. It has just added number 28 to its website, noting that the new store in Nanning will open on Saturday. The store will be located inside the upmarket MixC complex in the Qingxiu District....

As DC Comics fans are still clamoring for the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League, The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell has gone on record saying the idea of there being a cut of a film that doesn’t fit the director’s vision is a “nightmare.” Fans began to demand the Justice League Snyder cut shortly after the release of the movie in 2017, stating a general dissatisfaction with the final cut of the film made by Joss Whedon, who replaced Snyder as the director of the film during its production....

This year, film classics Jurassic Park, The Shining, Brokeback Mountain, and many others have been added to the National Film Registry. In its annual induction of 25 films deemed culturally and historically significant enough to make the cut, the Library of Congress has elected to preserve these and other classics in its collection. These films join a curated collection of almost 500 other preserved works. Other notable titles the National Film Registry has added to its ranks over the past three decades include the original versions of Star Wars, War of the Worlds, Scarface, The Manchurian Candidate, and The Wizard of Oz, as well as such film history titans as Citizen Kane, Gone with the Wind, The Grapes of Wrath, Rosemary’s Baby, and Casablanca....

A recently teased deleted scene from Justice League seems to provide an answer for one of the movie’s plot holes. After weeks of speculation regarding when the movie would be released on home entertainment and what bonus footage would be included on the Blu-ray, Warner Bros. made both of those things official earlier today. The digital movie will be made available on February 13th, and the Justice League Blu-ray (which drops exactly one month later) comes with a laundry list of special features, including behind-the-scenes looks at some of the film’s major sequences and characters....

Justice League is currently projected to open with $110-120 million at the domestic box office, though those estimates may rise after Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters. Marvel Studios’ third Thor movie is premiering in several international markets this week, ahead of its stateside release in November. That means that the public’s attention is currently fixed more on Ragnarok than DC’s superhero team-up epic, which could be impacting Justice League’s box office tracking results....

The DC Extended Universe movies have thus far provoked a divisive reaction among fans and mainstream audiences alike, with one of the most frequent criticisms being that the films are too dark. The film stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, a woman returning to her beachside childhood home with her husband, Gabe, who is played by Black Panther’s Winston Duke, and their two children for a summer vacation....

Rhys Darby is reprising his Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle role as the NPC and players’ guide Nigel in Sony’s as-yet untitled sequel, Jumanji 3. Technically a sequel to the 1995 Jumanji movie, Welcome to the Jungle hit theaters in December 2017 and went on to become a box office smash-hit fueled by great word of mouth. Unlike the ’90s film and the book that inspired it, the followup added a new twist where the enchanted Jumanji board game transforms itself into a video game that sucks players into its universe....

Jordan Peele has waded into the ongoing Martin Scorsese versus Marvel debate, stating that he wants to see more original movies in theaters, too. The conversation surrounding the issue has grown substantially ever since Martin Scorsese initiated it last month. Originally, Scorsese was quoted as saying that Marvel movies weren’t cinema, but The Irishman director eventually said that his initial comments were misquoted. After weeks of intense media coverage, Scorsese finally set the record straight by writing a highly praised op-ed in The New York Times on the subject....

Justice Department had requested a five year sentence, while Keys requested trial. Lawyer for Keys, Jay Leiderman said they will ask Keys remain free while they challenge US Computer fraud laws in the appeals courts. “Ultimately we just hope Matthew is OK,” Leiderman said. “In 2010, shortly after Keys left a job at a Tribune-owned television station in Sacramento, Calif., following a dispute with a supervisor, a story on Tribune’s Los Angeles Times website was altered by Anonymous hackers, the indictment said”....

Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown has returned to social media where he explained the negativity that led to him taking his social media hiatus. Brown deleted his Twitter page last month and went ghost on Instagram following fierce backlash he received over his comments on former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. However, he returned to social media to post a video explaining the “bad state of mind” he was in last month, saying, “So… some of you may know I deleted my other social media pages and took a long break from posting on ig because I been in a bad state of mind....
