The Jordan Peele produced reboot of Candyman has found its title character in Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The Candyman first appeared in author Clive Barker’s short story The Forbidden, where a student researches an urban legend about a hook-handed killer on a housing estate and meets a bloody fate. Bernard Rose’s film adaptation Candyman relocated the story from the UK to Chicago and reimagined the waxy yellow killer of Barker’s story into the ghost of an artist who was brutally murdered in a racially motivated attack....

In the time since the 2012 release of Dredd, few people have more vocally called for a sequel than Adi Shankar, who served as an executive producer on the film. Despite Dredd’s underwhelming box office haul, the pleasingly faithful take on the popular Judge Dredd character has earned itself a legion of followers via home video and streaming, and Shankar believes that those followers deserve a worthy big-screen follow-up. For his part, star Karl Urban has been right there with Shankar in pushing for a sequel to be made....

It’s no secret that Warner Bros. has had a difficult time getting the DCEU off the ground. Despite the films being highly profitable, the reception for each has had diminishing returns. Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad all have their supporters, but their quality has been contentious among fans. A new Muppets series from Josh Gad is reportedly coming to streaming service Disney Plus. Back in 2004, the Mouse House added Jim Henson’s beloved puppet characters to their ever-growing media empire, with the hopes of revitalizing the brand and introducing the franchise to a new generation of fans. Dwayne Johnson confirms the developmental process is well-underway on Jumanji 3. Warner Bros. is putting the Batmobile from Justice League on display at San Diego Comic-Con this week along with a realistic version fans can buy. Without question, the Batmobile has been as an iconic piece of Batman lore as the character himself, beginning with the cool hotrod driven by Adam West in the Batman TV series in the late 1960s. Jurassic Park has been reimagined as a Fyre Fest documentary. The real-life festival spawned two documentaries simultaneously on Netflix and Hulu, and the connections the festival has to Jurassic Park are surprisingly similar. In January, Netflix and Hulu released documentaries of their own about the same subject: the failed Fyre Music Festival from CEO Billy McFarland. Both documentaries feature the story behind McFarland’s failed attempt to create a luxury music festival that ultimately led to class action lawsuits and a six-year prison sentence for McFarland....

Jurassic World Evolution is returning to Jurassic Park!
