Founded in 2012 by former NY Giants running back Tiki Barber, along with Mark Gerson, Thuzio was a precursor to what would one day become Julius. Thuzio was something of a personal mission for Barber, who watched a lot of his ex-colleagues, retired American football players, struggle to adapt to “civilian life” once left the sport for good. Thuzio became a kind of web-based talent agency for current and former athletes, looking to make extra money with appearance fees and endorsement deals....

After Jurassic World earned mostly positive reviews and became one of the biggest box office hits of 2015, it was clear Universal would move forth on a sequel. That film, the currently untitled Jurassic World 2, is now in the midst of principal photography ahead of its 2018 release date. Many viewers are curious to see what director J.A. Bayona - helmsman of the acclaimed A Monster Calls - can do with this material, as the filmmaker promises to put a darker spin on the property while still maintaining its sense of fun....

Going solo Though we were hoping that Batman would take charge and lay out some sort of strategy while the team was en route to Bizarnov, the Lasso of Truth scene with Aquaman is charming enough that we don’t mind him keeping things close to the vest. Honestly, revealing his plan of attack to his teammates at the last second so that they don’t raise questions about his suspicious behavior is a pretty Batman-y move....

At long last, fans of DC Comics are looking forward to a live-action Justice League film, as the DC Extended Universe is now in full swing. Director Zack Snyder used his Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as a launching pad to introduce moviegoers to the various heroes that will make up the team. Obviously, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman received most of the attention, but some of their allies made appearances as well....

Justice League appears to have been edited in a way that deliberately removes Wonder Woman’s enjoyment of fighting. The Zack Snyder-directed film, which Joss Whedon stepped in to finish after the former departed the project, wasn’t nearly the box office hit that Wonder Woman was. And the immense commercial success of the Gal Gadot-starring movie, which earned over $821 million worldwide, ended up overshadowing Justice League’s ensemble actioner. It’s possible that the sudden popularity of Wonder Woman and the title character, whose desire for peace made her more noble than bloodthirsty, caused minor but noticeable changes in the way Justice League ended up being cut together....

The first clip released from Justice League shows Wonder Woman facing off against the movie’s big bad: Steppenwolf. Fans know that Batman will be “Uniting the Five” (?) to take on the intergalactic threat posed by Steppenwolf, but the first scene unveiled from the film puts Diana Prince right at the center of the action. Hot off the heels of Wonder Woman’s spectacular solo movie, it is no surprise that Justice League’s marketing campaign is focussing on the superpowered heroine....

Despite the rapid expansion of the DC Extended Universe, many fans are still disappointed that key members of the Justice League will not be present in their first theatrical outing this year. After winning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Get Out, Jordan Peele is pursuing a considerably different sort of project. He reportedly wants to reboot the animated series Gargoyles as a live-action movie. Premiering in 1994, Disney’s animated series Gargoyles centered around a group of medieval creatures who reside in Scotland in the year 994. When a curse leaves them encased in stone for 1000 years, their statues are moved to New York City, the curse is broken, and they wake up in a modern setting, forced to carefully adapt to their new environment....

Joss Whedon has responded to director Martin Scorsese’s comments about Marvel Studios’ movies. In an interview to promote his upcoming movie The Irishman, Scorsese claimed that Marvel movies are “not cinema”, which lead to a substantial amount of backlash online. People were quick to defend the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2 filmmaker James Gunn. Whedon was heavily involved in the MCU during its early days....

A federal judge said Apple must face nearly all of a proposed class-action lawsuit claiming that its voice assistant Siri violates users’ privacy. As reported by Reuters, US District Judge Jeffrey White could try to prove that “Siri routinely recorded their private conversations because of ‘accidental activations’, and that Apple disclosed these conversations to third parties.” According to the publication, one Siri user said their private discussions with his doctors about a surgical treatment caused them to receive targeted ads for that treatment....

After numerous small teases, a trailer for the popular Justice League fan edit project Justice League: Black Suit Edition is finally here. The trailer shows altered Justice League footage mixed in with a variety of other resources, from original effects by creator Chris Dawson and his small team to snippets of other movies mixed in to create something that looks and feels entirely new. After Zack Snyder was replaced by Joss Whedon as director of Justice League, the movie infamously went through substantial reshoots, drastically altering the film into a Frankenstein’s monster of a movie....

During the midst of the San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel for Justice League, the cast took the time to quell any fears on the status of the film following reshoots and the change in director late into production. Most major Hollywood productions feature some sort of reshoots to help assess the status of the film in post production and fill in the gaps that principal photography left. The reshoots of Justice League, however, come under unique and tragic circumstances, as the initial director of the film Zack Snyder was forced to leave the project to spend some much needed personal time with his family after the sudden and unfortunate death of his daughter....

Perhaps in what might be read as a wake-up call for Apple, the Cupertino, Calif., gadget powerhouse was just served a dose of reality before a Dusseldorf court in Germany. A quick recap: Apple secured a sales ban on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in September on the grounds of too many similarities and patent infringement. Samsung then re-engineered its device and re-introduced it under the Galaxy Tab 10.1N moniker, but Apple pushed for an injunction of that model, too....

Following a hearing between Apple and Epic’s lawyers about ten hours ago, the judge has made her first ruling on the case. Epic had asked for restraining orders to prevent Apple from blocking Fortnite and the Unreal Engine (as Apple had said it will terminate all of Epic’s developer accounts on the 28th). Epic ‘won’ on half of it. Apple has now been given a restraining order which prevents it from terminating developer accounts relating to Unreal Engine or other Epic properties....

Mother’s Day is the latest film in a series with a successful formula: A star-studded ensemble comedy/drama that takes occasional turns to the romantic, heartwarming, and maudlin, while remaining focused on a particular holiday, and is directed by the octogenarian comedy legend Garry Marshall. The first two films, 2010’s Valentine’s Day and the following year’s New Year’s Eve, may not have been well-received by critics, but both were decent-sized box office hits, earning over $110 million and $54 million, respectively....

Disney’s Jungle Cruise has added both The Jungle Book visual effects supervisor J.D. Schwalm and The Gunman cinematographer Flavio Martinez Labiano to its production crew. Filming on the Mouse House’s theme park ride-turned movie is slated to get underway next April, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson starring and director Jaume Collet-Serra (Run All Night) calling the shots. The Jungle Cruise theme park ride debuted at Disneyland in California back in 1955 and is still active today, as part of the park’s Adventureland region....
