A new photo from Zack Snyder’s Justice League has surfaced online ahead of the movie’s newest trailer debut this weekend. Warner Bros. finally launched their DC Comics shared universe last year with Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice – a follow-up to the director’s Man of Steel – and now the burgeoning DC Extended Universe will continue later this year with the filmmaker’s Justice League, which sees the world’s finest heroes - Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) - unite against a world-ending villain, Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds).

The upcoming movie is not only expected to introduce audiences to the founding members of the Justice League but also lay the foundation for the New Gods and, presumably, a future invasion by Steppenwolf’s nephew, the supervillain Darkseid, who rules the alien world Apokolips. So far, we’ve seen various members of the League (except for Superman, whose grand reveal is currently being kept under wraps) fight the Parademon army - though, for some reason, most of the images that the studio has released have focused on three specific heroes: Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash, who always appear to be staring at something… and the newest image is no exception.

The studio is expected to debut the second Justice League trailer during their highly-anticipated Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday, but until that happens, fans can analyze this new photo that has been making the rounds online, featuring Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash in a mystery location. This was teased during the Justice League Comic-Con 2016 footage, in which the human victors buried their Mother Box in the middle of an unknown forest. As audiences briefly saw in Batman V Superman last year, Dr. Silas Stone was attempting to save his son, Victor Stone, when the Human Mother Box fused itself with his son’s dismembered body, thus teasing the football star’s transformation into the superhero Cyborg. Previous reports have suggested that, as of the time of the movie, the Human Mother Box no longer exists, for it and Cyborg are now one and the same.

Considering that the Mother Boxes are what Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons are after in Justice League, it would make sense for them to visit S.T.A.R. Labs, the facility in which Dr. Stone works. After all, he is the only human that we know of who has studied and had direct contact with a Mother Box. Perhaps the trio of Leaguers are there to find out more information about the mystical devices. We’ll just have to wait and see.
