A never-before-seen Justice League deleted scene reveals Batman (Ben Affleck) throwing a batarang straight into a camera. The first ensemble superhero flick from Warner Bros., the project brought together DC’s premier characters for one epic mission to save Earth from Steppenwolf’s attempt at take-over. Despite the roster of well-known heroes in the film, it didn’t perform as well as many thought it would at the box office.

Zack Snyder recived sole directing credit for Justice League, but he left the production long before the film was overall finished. Former Marvel Studios director Joss Whedon stepped in and manned the reshoots where he significantly reworked the movie. He continued to helm the project through post-production, which left a good amount of what Snyder shot on the cutting room floor. Given this, fans of the original director have been clamoring for the release of the Snyder Cut - a version of the movie fully filmed by Snyder. Warner Bros. has continued to be silent about the matter - seemingly no intentions of heeding to fan clamor which only fuels interest in the version of the movie. The fact that deleted scenes continue to emerge online every so often also adds to the complex conversation regarding Justice League, the latest of which offers a brand new look at Batman in the film.

Coming from Twitter user @moaningwaynes is a one-second clip of Batman in Justice League that didn’t make the film’s theatrical cut. The video features Batman ferociously throwing a batarang right into a surveillance camera. Watch it below:

It’s unclear where the clip fits in Justice League, but the source of the video suggests that it could be part of Cyborg’s (Ray Fisher) surveillance of other super-powered beings by hacking into several computer systems in Gotham. Considering that the footage is from Gotham City Police, this makes sense. That said, what’s more curious is the context behind the video. It’s interesting if it’s an old or new clip and more importantly, what Bruce was up to when this was taken. Fans know that he’s already researching on Parademons as seen at the beginning of the film, perhaps it’s part of that whole sequence.

Over the course of the last year, deleted one-second clips like this have occasionally emerged reminding everyone of the still-unresolved controversy surrounding Justice League. While a chunk of the community understandably is trying to move forward with what Warner Bros. is attempting to do now that Snyder is no longer involved in the DCEU, others can’t help but still wonder what the film would’ve been like if the last minute director-switch didn’t happen. While it’s unknown who directed the aforementioned clip, its existence without context will only continue conversations about what really happened behind-the-scenes regarding the project.
